Learning outcomes: Knowledge The student is conscious of the meaning of concrete as a structural material in life of modern societies. Student owned the knowledge about production and proprieties of cement, aggregates, mortars, concrete mixture and the concrete. Student knows methods and principles of concreting works in accordance with its economic aspects. Skills Student is able to determine the characteristics of concrete components and to estimate their quality in aspect of technological applicability. Student can calculate and experimentally verify the recipe of concrete mix or cement mortar according to given conditions of realization. Student is able to plan the sequence of operational tasks, assort proper means of mixing, transport, compaction of concrete mix and curing of fresh concrete. Student adapts proposed means to projected characteristics of concrete mix, working environment, type of structure and operating conditions. Social competences Student is aware of the type and range of hazards resulting from cement and concrete industry to environment and its sustainability.
